"An error has occurred" displayed while trying to download El Capitan

When I tried to update my 2015 Retina Macbook Pro 15 inch w/ AMD the message "An error has occurred" is displayed on the app store. Any way to fix this?

I currently have OSX 10.10.5.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), null

I had the same problem too. Initially the downloading of Os X El Capitan was fine, until about 400 MB when it returned an error message. After that I tried shutting down and restarting it again, but each time I get a "waiting" and "pause" message on the tab. Unable to do anything else. I also tried opening it from the Application Folder to no avail.

Hope someone can come up with a solution soon. :-)

the same thing happened to me, what i did was -and i know this might sound stupid but- i went into purchased tab in the app store, and tried to download mavericks. this resumed el capitan download, and now mavericks is stuck at waiting - which is ok.. i guess? i'll update if i'm able to install el capitan. hope it helps.

The above mentioned solution didn't work for me.

Bfter 2 days of searching the web without any result, I found a post which said to ran the Mac in Safe Mode. I then downloaded Os X El Capitan like you would regularly through the app store. I have yet to install it, but the download was finally 100% completed. I had tried at least 4 times and the download always froze and I would get the same error message.
