Q: "you don't not have access" error message in iTunes Home Sharing (music)
some more detail. i am using a an iMac 2015, an iPhone 6plus (both with the same version of iTunes), with home sharing set on through both the iMac and the iPhone, we are connected on the same wifi network and have bluetooth enabled. i am able to bring load up the list of my iMacs library and then finally click on it through the iPhone. it connects, loads all the albums etc, but once i push on any song from any band, i get an error file stating "you do not have access to the requested resource".
things i've done to attempt to correct this:
reset my router
confirmed that both my iTunes on the mac and iTunes on the phone are the same
signed out and then back in of home sharing on both devices
called apple twice and so far no real progress made. first call, a girl who said she has never heard of this problem went through all the troubleshooting with me (basically stuff i had already done myself) but then she was unable to transfer me to a senior advisor which was unfortunate. the second time was through the chat dialogue box and that took upwards of over an hour and by that time my daughter had woken up for her nap and i couldn't stay on the line any longer. but both calls were mostly me just talking and apple representatives going "hmmmmmmm"...
none of this has worked. i've got the connection. the iPhone will bring up the iMac iTunes library and even display whats on there. but my iPhone somehow doesn't have permission to access these songs. please advise me when you have a chance.
iMac with Retina 5K display, OS X El Capitan (10.11)
