Why Aperture doesn't work i El Capitan ?
Mine is working fine, just very slow to open.
What version of Aperture did you have? Did you have it working in Yosemite?
So far Aperture 3.6 is working OK on El Capitan. I have updated an external drive to El Capitan to test drive it for a few weeks before I update the real internal drive. So far all programs are OK. PS this includes Photoshop PS6.
Mine is not. I can open the library, switch between them, browse my images and move around in albums; but if I go to edit an image it is displayed as a washed-out version. If I export it it looks fine, but the view in Edit is wrong.
It happens the same to me.
Someone suggested, on another forum, that I switch off On-screen profiling and the problem went away. I'm sure that there will be other problems with Aperture on El Capitan before too long.
Chris
It works !
I switched off On-screen profiling and now when I edit an image it is well displayed in Aperture.
Had exactly the same problem you describe. The remedy suggested to you on another forum works wonders. Thank you very much!
Could you explain for a poor man the detail you followed to solve the problem?
So far so good
Open the View menu In Aperture. disable the check mark for onscreen proofing in that menu. This option does not work well for one users in El Capitan. It will make the photos.ook over exposed and washed out.
You have to switch off on-screen profiling, the system that shows you how your image will look when printed, based on certain colour profiles. Here is the Help text:
Choose View > Onscreen Proofing (or press Option-Shift-P).
When onscreen proofing is on, a checkmark appears beside the item in the View menu.
Chris
Thanks Chris. Now is working. I've uncheked thriller item
In Screen Proofing.
Is that correct? No more washing machine

For Chris
I canceled the checkmark and now it's working properly. But how comes? Will it last?
Really I'm not completely convinced but seems to work.
Robert
I don't know, Robert, how long it will last. I have just imported my main Aperture library to Capture One and to Photos. I am not looking forward to learning how to use Capture One . . .

Aperture is no longer supported, it may work, it may not and other things may stop working. It's your choice to use it but there are no guarantees.
