I've been waiting for 2 months. I fought with my dell for 2 months (actually about 2 years). I'm excited for this laptop, I've been following the MB since it came out. And YES it does matter to me if it's just seconds faster. Get over it!.. If I can run Photoshop CS2 and Illustrator CS2 on a dell with 512mb and an intel 4 pentium.. Imagine what it's gonna be with 2gigs and intel core 2 duo. I just wet myself.. hahaha
not much differnt. sorry. its not Universal. so it will be a little slower. i dont know if it will bother you tho. adobe stuff just looks better on mac anyways
Not universal just yet. But Adobe will be updating to CS3 early spring (rumor). Adobe did say an update will come soon... I'm still excited though, Come on, going from Dell to Apple.. That's a giant leap for all mankind.
I wouldn't get too excited about it. If that little increase in speed really gets you excited you are gonna be really annoyed when Apple replace it with a new faster model in a few months time.... 😉
Not really.. At least I would know I got the newer model compared to oldest model. I just didn't want to buy the macbook because I knew there was gonna be an update soon, and it came sooner than I expected it to be. And when a new one comes out I'll just sell my old one, and so on and so on. Just like I do with my car.
ive heard it too. but sure thats true. CS2 came out last year right? they might do the microsoft thing. update every two years on apps. and 6 years for os's. im not sure thats my guess
You were smart to wait, don't let anyone tell you different. If you KNOW that a newer model of what you want is coming out, wether it's 1% or 100% faster, you'd wait. I was about to order an MBP until I heard about the Core 2 Duo upgrade being close a month ago, I sure am glad I waited. Nice purchase B'z!
Actually it's a smart idea. Think about it. Sell your computer for a few hundred dollars less than the new models, pay say $300-400 difference for the new models every 6 months. By the time 2-3 years rolls around since the first purchase, you're back up to the same price as if you bought it new and waiting 2-3 years.
I agree that you were smart to have waited for the CD2 MB. It's much better spec'd for the same price as the previous MB. I held off buying the MPB or MB based on rumors. I'll be ebaying by powerbook to get the stock blackbook soon. (Uh, actually I think I'll put in the order today.)
Congrats on your new Apple laptop. Is is safe to say that you've left Dell for good?
PowerBook G4 | iMac G3 | iPod nano | Nike+ Mac OS X (10.4.8)
I'm happy about my order. Im glad I waited and yes, I am done with DELL. like that dude up there said wether it's "1% or 100%" faster. I have the latest so boo hoo. And when the next one comes out, I will sell and buy... Now let's see when this little sucker will ship.
Later peeps.
Commodore 64 - a.k.a. - Dell Windows XP Pro MB2 coming soon...
The configurations of the new MacBook are very well priced. I paid for the 1 GB + 80 GB Hard Drive - $1600. You get 1 GB + 120 GB of Hard Drive for $1500. I like.
I just placed mine too. I'd been waiting for the release of the Macbook flavor of C2D for a couple of months. Just wanted to be the new kid on the block. We'll see if it's got any aches/pains like the Duo MB did. Only time (and the forum) will tell. Glad I waited.
I also waited for months to get a MB. I would have got one if not the RSS (and also the local resller here in HK who refused to amdit the problem). November seeems not a good timing to me to get a Core 2 Duo MB as I want also Leopard.
I know we may wait forever for better h/w but we should keep in mind that there were "4x more problems" on Duo MB.
