Q: How do I now share photos via email in El Capitan?

Just upgraded to El Capitan, and now Photos doesn't have all the share options anymore. When I click a bunch or photos or an event, I used to just hit the box with the up-arrow symbol and select share to email, then it creates a new email with my selected Photos. Easy easy....

It is now gone. All the options I get are "iCloud Photo Sharing" and "More", that is it. When I click More it takes me to an Extensions dialog box in the Settings, and there is nothing there to choose from. All it has is two choices which is third-party extensions that is empty, or Share Menu, that says it's not enabled. There is no switch to enable it this Share Menu here or in iPhoto.

Help.

It still works exactly the same with ELCaptain and with Yosemite - you must have some system setting changed - check your system preferences for extensions and iCloud

Seems to work fine for me... when I select photo(s) and click the box with the up arrow I get a drop down menu with options for iCloud, Mail, Facebook, AirDrop, Notes, Messages, and More.

Hi guys, ok turned out this was a general Share Menu issue across the whole system, not just Photos. All my list of Share items disappeared after I upgraded to El Capitan.

Use this article to restore your Share Menu if this ever happens.

If sharing options and Markup are missing after you install OS X Yosemite - Apple Support

In short, you enter this command at the terminal, it may take many minutes to run before its finished repopulating your Share menu:

    /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchSe rvices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -seed

Just as an update to this, it seems whenever I reboot my Mac, I lose my share settings and I have to use this command line fix again.

A little frustrated about this... such weird behaviour.

This is EXACTLY the same issue I'm having.  "Mail" never listed as a sharing option in Photos.  Then I tried your fix above with the command..and it worked!!!  Now, after rebooting my computer it's gone again.  Talk about frustration!

I have EXACTLY the same issue. Its really frustrating! How come it only happens to some Macs on the upgrade?! And when are Apple going to comment with a fix. It renders 'PHOTOS' virtually useless as you cant easily share from it !

    Common Apple: SAY SOMETHING please!

    Thanks

I tried this fix with my imac, but still nothing appeared after i ran the fix.

when i go into the extensions part after having run the fix, i have nothing in there.

Very frustrating, I need to get my photos off to organise my Grandfathers funeral and I share them. No airdrop, iMessage, email or anything!
