Q: When I hold down the full-screen button in the upper-left corner of a window, nothing happens.

Any idea why could that be? Freshly upgraded from 10.10 to 10.11.

    The Split View feature of El Capitan is incredibly useful, but can still take a bit of getting use to, especially in these early days. The feature has to be supported by the specific applications. As mentioned in the article you came from, applications that show an X in the full-screen button do not support Split View, but this is not exclusive. What happens if you try the steps described in that article with two applications known to support Split View, like Mail and Safari?
