Q: Can someone point me to Yosemite photos 101 please?

I am hopelessly confused by the whole business of trying to keep my photo files organized in the Mac system. All I know is that I had albums set up after I transferred everything from my PC to Mac two years ago, and someone in the latest series of updates, they have all disappeared and my photos seem to be scattered, unorganized, all over the place - some in dropbox, some in photos, some in camera roll, some in photo stream, some in iPhoto, and I don't even know where to start to get the organized again.

And is there any way to ask Apple not to completely disassemble my system of organizing every time it decides to introduce something new and fabulous for the young and hip? Old people buy computers, too, you know . . . thought I may just be driven back to the physical albums by all of this. At least I will know where my photos are.

I can't find anything on Apple support or the internet except glowing reviews of how fabulous this all is.  Any basic how to's for dummies anywhere?

Thanks for any help you can give.
