can´t download El Capitan

Question

can´t download El Capitan

Yesterday I tried to download El Capitan. As it took way too much time I stopped it. Today I wanted to resume. But it doesn´t work. In the App Store it shows me that my computer tries to download Aperture (which I deleted) and El Capitan ... but nothing happens for hours. I can´t stop it, the "waiting ..." filed as well as the "stopping" buttons for Aperture and El Capitan are grayed out. I have deleted the partial El Capitan download in the application folder and restarted my iMac twice ... but without success. Any ideas?

iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2012), OS X El Capitan (10.11)

I have the same issue.

I downloaded about 2gb of 6gb of El Capitan and hit paused.

Tried to start download again and it is stuck on PAUSE. Button is stuck, won't change.

Also wondering what else I can do?

If the download doesn't work well maybe it is better that I have not installed it yet?

Ok I got it! In the store go to Store and Check for Downloads... from the menu bar.

It will say that everything has been downloaded but then the El Capitan download will move out of waiting and start going again.

Hope this works for everyone else too!

that´s weird ... but it seems to work. the only thing that makes me nervous is the fact that it says that I already downloaded 2.88 Gig ... becuae I deleted them ... I´ll see in about an hour if I have to re-download the whole **** thing again.

but anyway ... thanks a million!!!

This worked for me. I had followed some other questions that said to delete the El Capitan download from the Applications directory but that didn't fix it.

Flowed your instructions to go into App store menu bar: Store --> "Check for Unfinished Downloads" and that fixed it immediately.
