6th Gen iPod nano appears to be corrupt

Hi,

I am looking for any help that I can get solving this problem.

I have two 6th gen iPod nanos, when each attached to my PC I get an error message saying "iTunes has detected an iPod but it appears to be corrupt. You may need to restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes. You may also try disconnecting and reconnecting the iPod"

I have tried disconnecting the ipods and reconnecting them. I have tried different USB ports.

I have tried using iTunes to restore them

I have followed all of the suggestions at iPhone, iPad, or iPod not recognized in iTunes for Windows - Apple Support

I have tried https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204275

I am using Windows 10 and itunes 12.3.0.44 64 bit.

The are both recognized by another system running windows 10 and the same version of iTunes. So the problem appears to be with my copy of itunes and pc rather than the ipods.

Thanks for any help
