El Capitan USB audio problems.

I had the exact same problems with my NuForce DAC, but just the other day I tried reconnecting it to the MacBook Pro Retina 13 (late 2013) - and lo and behold! It works again!

I have no explanation other than they must have slipped in an update in the recent version of OSX... (10.11.6).

I also have the similar issue, I have updated to the latest OS X, I connect my MacBook Air to my Pioneer N-50 with USB as external DAC, it used to work in the previous version but so far not working, no sound at all.

I tested by booting to the Windows 10 and it works perfectly 😕

Has this problem been solved? Seems like.the discussion died pretty quick.

Nope, the issue is still here... Do not know what to say about that, Apple does not focus on the professional market that is the truth 😐

What an absolute joke. Have they given any explanation or just ignored it all together?

So i'm still having the same problem as all of you but this can't be happening to every DJ who uses a macbook with El Capitan? Is this ever gonna be sorted? 😠

This is one of those strange things, where a significant number of people (but not the majority by any means) have serious issues, while others have no problem at all. These are vexing for the affected, and very difficult to figure out.

At this point the question is probably: do affected people see the problem fixed in Sierra?

My problem seems to be fixed after updating from 10.11.1 to 10.11.6. No issues in the last week on my 2015 MacBook Pro 15" using a Sony DAC. Hoping it's a permanent fix.

My guess is people with affected devices will always be affected. I have a USB DAC and it has worked from the first dev. seed of El Capitan through the OS I can't talk about yet.

Not all people are the macOS beta tester, so it is no way to test, finger crossed

I'm also curious to know whether this got fixed on Sierra official release. Can anyone share this? Thanks!

In my case, no. It's actually worse now, because of a new, Sierra only, issue of having to reset the stereo channel balance after most Mac startups/restarts.

Anyone got any more news about the Sierra update? I wanna udate my mac but i don't wanna lose the lot!

FWIW, you could install Sierra on an external drive and test it.

FWIW: If you had a full backup of your partition, preferably a clone, you would have little risk in trying Sierra out for yourself.

No one here is going to have your exact mix of software. You need to try it for yourself.
