Dec 21, 2015 1:23 PM in response to Nodilisby Bikrrr,Maybe if everyone submits a bug report with their equipment details, it'll raise visibility to Apple? http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html
I know, long shot...but only takes a minute.

Dec 23, 2015 7:51 AM in response to Bikrrrby JimmyCMPIT,It couldn't hurt but I think Apple is very aware their audio (and their OpenCL from what I've read) tools don't work the way the developers need them to but Apple doesn't appear to be correcting this on their end a priority.

Dec 27, 2015 3:01 PM in response to Bikrrrby guitarman001,Seem my posts here:
problem with usb audio in el capitan
I'm very disappointed. I WANT to keep the machine as I think if this issue was sorted, it'd be great. I like the interface, the software, the lack of bloatware etc. It's almost a relief compared to Windows. However... Windows "just works" for me. I cannot believe this USB audio issue and how long it's gone on for. TOTAL joke!! I only got my first Apple machine (high-end MBP) 2-3 days ago and am returning it tomorrow as I'm so disgusted that they can't get the OS to get USB audio right. I've never had a problems with this in Windows, ever. I not only wont be recommending Apple to others, I'll have to mention this experience and discourage them from purchasing Apple, I feel so strongly about this. Honestly!! I've waited years and finally "given in" and bought Apple and as soon as I do, I can't even record USB audio!! It's a joke! The annoying thing is that the issue will get fixed and I know I'll be "missing out" on a great computer with a nice interface etc... however the whole experience has now been soured for me. And look at how long it's taken to try and get resolved. Just scandalous. Fingers crossed I get my £2000 refund tomorrow.

Dec 27, 2015 3:05 PM in response to Fogtolaby guitarman001,Fogtola, you can add Line 6 interfaces to that list.

Dec 27, 2015 3:17 PM in response to guitarman001by Fogtola,I hope you get your refund. I've been an apple user for over 20 years and this will be my last apple product. The fact that they won't address, fix, or acknowledge this issue is unreal. It's not as if some antiquated piece of software isn't working, there are literally dozens of audio software products and thousands of dollars worth of equipment they rendered useless with El Capitan. I have also had to have 2 screens replaced on my 2700 dollar iMac, and the latest ios9 update to my iPhone was a disaster. I wouldn't recommend an apple product to anyone anymore they have fallen far and fast. It's all about iPads, and iPhones.

Dec 27, 2015 3:33 PM in response to Fogtolaby guitarman001,It's such a shame as I do like the interface and everybody is telling me rock-solid they are and great for AV work.
It's just unforgivable!
I'm a Windows user at home and Unix at work. Always wondered about Apple but 3 days in and I'm out.
You will know more about it than me (I've only done the digging these last few days) but it looks like the issue has lasted for months. And it's a SERIOUS issue. And they're not acknowledging it? And not fixing it either? I thought they were working on new betas to help, and initially just wanted the USB audio developers to "fix their drivers"? In any case, shoddy all round. I could revert to an older OS but shouldn't have to on a new £2k machine. I'm just glad I never shelled out on a nice case and other dedicated hardware for it. To be honest, I read that the charger for the MBP is prone to cable breakage and is not cheap to replace, either.
I'm definitely sticking with Windows for home use. I have zero problems with Windows for anything like this. It's a little more bloated and what have you but "it just works." I never knew this used to be somewhat of a slogan for Apple but for me, this now applies to Microsoft.

Dec 27, 2015 3:36 PM in response to Fogtolaby guitarman001,Why did you have to replace two screens? Defective? If so, after how long?
-
Dec 27, 2015 3:39 PM in response to guitarman001by Fogtola, the screen starts to get brown smudge marks on it... it's a common problem with iMacs. they have replaced them free of charge (but only because i bought applecare.) but who wants to pack up their computer every 6 months and get another screen? They knew about the usb problem 6 months before they even released el crapitan, but they released it anyway, and now their have been 2 updates to el crapitan and it still isn't fixed, or even addressed. It's a joke.

Dec 27, 2015 3:42 PM in response to Fogtolaby guitarman001,Crikey...that's pretty bad.
This is all good in re-assuring me that I'm doing the right thing by returning my MBP.
Because part of me wants to keep it and revert to an older OS.
People are telling me Windows 10 will have similar problems.
All I know is that this is totally unacceptable. They're not making toy planes here!

Dec 27, 2015 3:47 PM in response to guitarman001by Fogtola, this has been totally un-apple like. You couldn't have run into a more Pro-apple guy than me prior to the past year. I run my system dual boot, windows 10 and OS X el crapitan, and I'm in windows 10 more now than ever before. At least i get to use my audio equipment i bought. And it really is too bad because I have used windows OS's all the way back to windows 3.0 and Apple's OS's have much more enjoyable and dependable , until now. I wouldn't be so irate if they had at least addressed the issue and said they were working on a fix, but they are just ignoring it and that is unacceptable.

Dec 27, 2015 3:54 PM in response to Fogtolaby guitarman001,Well that's pretty damning for Apple if previously you were a champion for them.
I'm just looking up Windows 10 issues now - there are a fair few like you'd expect but nothing like this. Good to know you can run your audio devices in Windows. I don't see why these OS' are rolled out when there are so many problems.
If Apple resolve this issue, do you think you will return to being an Apple user or is this sort of the nail in the coffin for you?
I know it sounds like I'm some sort of Microsoft plant but I'm just a normal guy who plays guitar, spent £2k on a laptop 3 days ago and found out the USB audio interface doesn't even work. So, a very gutted musician, basically. Even more so because I never had the chance to experience how great Apple was before.
I really want to experience the "greatness of Apple" but I can't get over this, I really can't. I'm so angry. After all the marketing and me splashing out £2000 to find out USB audio interfaces don't work with it. Complete joke. I'm annoyed at that and I'm annoyed that I know I'll be handing my MBP back despite liking everything else about it. Gutted all round, absolutely gutted. Hopefully I can put it all behind me, get on with recording on my Windows machine and not think about this again but I know I will, and I know I'm going to be pretty negative when it comes to Apple. Turning a user away after just a few days!! Some of my tech friends will be saying "told you so..."
-
Dec 27, 2015 3:57 PM in response to Fogtolaby guitarman001,It's ironic but "it just works" now applies to Windows in my mind.
I'm so angry I have to get up at 8am to drive 35 miles to hand this piece of junk back, and yet it's midnight here in the UK and I can't detach myself from the computer to stop complaining about this. Absolutely shocking!!
-
Dec 27, 2015 3:58 PM in response to guitarman001by Fogtola,I think you missed the greatness of apple in my opinion, it's too bad because it was a great ride. I was buying apple computers and putting a windows os on them and running dual boot. In the future I will build my own machine and put the apple OS on my PC build and run dual boot.
-
Dec 27, 2015 4:00 PM in response to Fogtolaby guitarman001,I run my Windows machines with Unix as dual boot.
Well, at least I'll have my £2k back (I hope, else I'm stuck with this piece of junk!).
I can spec out a Windows laptop or just keep it and put it toward something else, which is the way I'm currently feeling.

Dec 28, 2015 1:38 AM in response to Nodilisby Democratizer,I just did post on Optoma NuForce Facebook page a kinda of complaint: https://www.facebook.com/nuforce/posts/1103225433022078
And I just reported a bug to Apple, too. Let's see if things get fixed from either of sides, as this issue really is outrageous.
"Dear NuForce!
It's few years now of using NuForce DDA-100. Few years of enjoyment. It's half a year of migrating from Microsoft PC to iMac (2015), initially with Yosemite. And, it worked flawlessly - I just plugged DDA-100 in and got the sound I am so hooked on. Now I have updated my iMac OS to ElCapitan - and my NuForce DAC is not working (not even appearing in outputs list). I did restart both devices (even having DAC unplugged from power for a minute) - nothing works.
Then I stumbled upon this thread:https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7253452?tstart=0
To what I understand - Apple is willing to have common standards for all external USB DAC's (and it would make sense, as there are SO MANy producers out there), and they have informed all manufacturers about this change some time ago (Yamaha say's it is working on updates for their devices). Maybe, Apple has done it in slightly arrogant way, but I believe all DAC manufacturers can catch-up. Apple is a s big as it is... And, of course, Apple just got one very big and bold minus from me.
Anyhow, NuForce, can you, please, fix this issue? As if not, my NuForce DDA-100 will need to be sold, which would be very bad thing for me (money and lot's of time wasted). And, I think it would be fair to inform people (forums and reviews sites) that buying an external DAC from manufacturer that is not able to update drivers duly is a very, very risky thing to do (I was counting on using it for years and years).
And, I was about to buy Optoma Nuforce DAC for home, too.PS. By the way, your site http://www.nuforce.optoma.com/ is not working. "
