xerox driver Workcentre 6015 for OS X 10.11?

My Xerox Workcentre 6015 has decided not to print after the upgrade to OS X 10.11 - I suspect a driver issue? Error message is: 'stopped' - Filter failed.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.3), 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5 8GB 1333 MHz

This steps works for me:

I just made my 6015N print again, and for those that think it was difficult.

1. Delete printer from your Printers and Scanners

2. Download latest drivers from XEROX which is the Yosemite version

3. Shut down Mac and start-up again holding the CMD with the R when you hold the power on button and wait (few minutes) until the special screen opens. And select Terminal from the drop down menu.

4. Type: csrutil disable; reboot

5. The MAc reboots and when it’s up and running you can install the downloaded drivers and add the printer again to your Printers & Scanners. The printer will be working now.

6. Since you have disabled csrutil you can better enable it again by following the same procedure of shutting down holding the keys and go to the terminal again to type: csrutil enable; reboot

7. FINISHED!

This worked for me. Thankyou thankyou so much. What a pain this is, very frustrating. No real answers as to why over on the Xerox blog: http://atyourservice.blogs.xerox.com/2015/10/13/mac-os-x-el-capitan-and-xerox-pr inters/#.VkQKwoTiPcP

Xerox's answer seems to be keep checking the supported driver page. do they really expect us to keep checking back. for how long months?

I have a Docuprint CM215 fw which is less than a year old and isn't even on their driver supported list anymore. Arggh!

Might have good news for you people...

My Fuji Xerox Docuprint M205b suffered the same fate after loading El Capitan. After a few calls to F.X. I have been able to get my hands on this beta driver. Worked for me instantly and all functions are operational again. Hope it works for you too.

Gathered this from the net, whatever the reason that made Fuji unprepared for El Capitan, they should have shared this with a disclaimer rather than ask customers to wait and leave our MFP useless in the dark until December (if not delayed). BTW since this is beta drivers, use at your own risk 🙂

Thanks Michael - worked for me too! Your directions were detailed but written simply and clearly. I am able to print again! One more machine to attempt - but at this point one printing is terrific. Thanks for sharing your solution and expertise. Although I am not sure a general user will be as successful - so hoping the companies get things in sync.

I Found this workaround useful, especially your instructions as I'm no geek. One thing though, I get a message every time I print now saying Printool is trying to modify settings and it asks for admin authorisation- everything works fine once I've entered the admin and password. Is this connected or is it because of something else? Be interested to know.

Many thanks.

Initially, I still couldn't get the 6015NI driver installer to work, even after disabling SIP. But Michael Donahue3's solution did work for me after I searched for, found and deleted a folder labeled "Xerox" on my drive. This folder was there even after I had "reset printing system" in the printers & scanners preference pane. So if you are still having trouble installing the 6015 Yosemite printers in El Capitan after disabling SIP, you might see if there is some other old Xerox content lurking on your drive.
