Q: xerox driver Workcentre 6015 for OS X 10.11?

My Xerox Workcentre 6015 has decided not to print after the upgrade to OS X 10.11 - I suspect a driver issue? Error message is: 'stopped' - Filter failed.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.3), 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5 8GB 1333 MHz

    Yes, turning off rootless works:

Printer Filter failed - Xerox WorkCentre 6015N

but it is not recommended. I am not sure how harmful this process is if you turn rootless back on after installing, but it seems the only workaround around until the vendors update their drivers.

    Michael,

    Many thanks!

This helped me to print with my Xerox WorkCentre 3045B on the OS El Capitan.

    No more problems to print.

    But...

Now my scanner doesn't work. I can't scan direct from the machine nor from the computer. The app "Express Scan Manager LE" from Xerox doesn't work right anymore and the option "Scanner" from the app "Xerox WorkCentre 3045B" just vanished.

    Anybody have any idea?

Printing is more important to me, so... again, thank you Michael Donahue3!

Worst case scenario, I'll wait for the uptade from Xerox.

    Hi

I have this problem too and will try your solution.  Xerox are also linking to it, with the same caveats as you, so I will be trying this.   Thanks for your help.   I'll let you know how it goes.  Also, I'm grateful for the reference to Printopia as I hadn't heard of it and from what I could see on the AirPrint page my model of Xerox doesn't support it.   Once the printing issue's fixed I'll get this app as it looks good.

    Sue

"How I Got My Xerox WorkCentre 6015NI To Print Under El Capitan In 24 Easy Steps!

I have a Xerox WorkCentre 6015NI and am running El Capitan 10.11.1 Beta (15B22c)."

Background:  all of my Macs where configured before El Capitan except one.  I tried to configure Mac Book Air running OS X 10.11 with the Xerox drivers configured for OS X 10.10 and received the "fail" message. Used what looked like a lot of steps, but it wasn't a bad process; it was detailed.

Result:  Worked like a charm.  Thank you!

    > 24.) After re-enabling SIP, the wireless printer continues to work fine, and even the Menu Bar icons have stayed put! (Though I've still got two of my fingers crossed – this may change with the next El Capitan release)

I applied the workaround this morning on OS X 10.11.0.  Then OS X 10.11.1 was released.  I hit "Update All" and waited for it to reboot.

    Printing still works after upgrading!

As always, your results may vary.

My solution is simple, just connect your iMac wifi to your air print and print like normal

This 24 step fix worked with my iMac.  Xerox support ignored me and said the driver was not the problem.  Told me to go back to my IT person.  I explained that would be me.  Then said to go back to apple.  It is a driver problem and Xerox needs to update its drivers for what is not a particularly old printer.
