I have the same problem and have restored twice with the same problem. I did run across this solution, but am to tired to try it right now. I do not plan to shutdown again until I can get it fixed on my other mac computer. Having the same problem on both. Keep you posted.

Either way, this is best fixed from Recovery Mode, but you shouldn't have to reinstall again to boot normally because moving the kexts in Recovery Mode should allow the boot process to continue as normal. Let me know how it goes.

Interesting. There may be a new driver from Samsung you need to install. However, the greater likelihood is that there is some old application or kernel extension that does not play nice upon boot up with your El Capitan updated drive that you need to remove. Discovering what that is can be difficult. I had a similar problem with a Toshiba Apple SSD drive installed in my 2009 Mac Pro. Still have not rebooted from it now for months, waiting for another upgrade to further flush out the software. Booting up from an external backup drive for now.
Soundgrid keytxt from Waves did the damage, once deleted I was running ok again,
It took 4 days out of my schedule, I suspect Apple have covered any loss of earnings claims in their T&Cs.
Def think long and hard before running any updates again
Follow the instruction
After 24 hours if wars with my old macbook pro 2009 finally i'm on 10.11

I finally ran out of boot drives in my Mac Pro so I could no longer ignore it.
El Capitan could not get to the login screen.
There were a couple of corrupt cache files that Launch Services relied on.
After deleting them, I was able to reboot and finally reach the login screen.
See the article herein "Fix for El Capitan stuck at login" by robertk1 for details to search for the appropriate Cstore files to delete. Online articles may describe a process called "Reset Launch Services".
This may have been a problem for many OSXes. However, the files moved around and have had different names and locations.
My issue occurred before reaching the login screen.
Others were having problems after reaching the login screen and logging in.

Since I am literally stumbling in the dark with no answer to El Capitan's endless reboots could it be a graphics card problem?

When I go to the terminal in my utilites and type that in it says "No file found" or something along those lines.
What exactly happens when you try to boot?
The computer starts to boot, with the loading bar and just hangs. This happens after I put my password in.
Interesting! It appears to be the same culprit for me. Would you mind sharing the steps you took within terminal to resolve?
Much Appreciated!,
Nothing appears so I guess I do not have any unsigned kexts
Thanks GSfromNL
I will delete the post.
No need to delete, idea was a great, just edit a bit and it will work for everyone...!
I finally got the Kexts and removed them to an unsupported folder. I will see when I reboot...
