"Child" in a family plan not able to get music content on ATV

Hi,

We have a current Apple TV with a family plan hosting two parents and one child. We have a music streaming plan; my wife can get music to synch across her iPhone and Macbook. However, my son cannot get music from his iPad (mini 2) to appear on his Apple TV as a playlist. The playlist option never shows up. If I sign in as my own account, my music is available on the ATV. All of our devices are updated as far as they can go.

I know I'm overlooking something but I am not sure what it is. Getting his playlists to appear should be possible, right?
