Airplay issue with iPhone

Hi. I use my iphone to watch movies on the apple tv via airplay. Before the airplay screen on my phone was black but now its grey and whenever the phone locks the movie stops playing. This didnt happen before when the screen on the phone was black. How do I get it back like before?
