I just upgraded my 2014 MacBook Air to El Capitan. I can print documents in pages, numbers and ebay shipping labels. But when I am in preview I can't print a PDF's. The printer runs, but the documents come out blank. I was able to print documents in Yosemite. Is their a new setting or is this just a new glitch.

Does sound like a glitch. You can try opening the PDF in Safari and print from there. Or you could download Acrobat Reader and see if that will let you print PDFs. If either work then it indicates an issue with Preview.

Control-click on the document to open it with Safari.
If Safari and Preview don't work, does dragging and dropping the preview document on a printer work?
Are there any messages in Console or the cups error log? Does it happen with all printers?
I control clicked the document and opened it up in safari and tried printing and it printed a blank page. I did drag the document into a printer and it printed the document successfully. I didn't or did i ever get a error message. So i really think their might be some bug in Preview.
Yes, it's a bug in how Preview and Safari print pdfs. The drag-and-drop approach uses a different printing path.
Is there a way to fix this? or do i have to wait for a patch?
I don't know of a way to fix this, just workarounds. You'll have to wait for an update.
Just wondering if reinstalling the is OS would be a solution
so many others are having the same issue, reinstalling the OS will not resolve this.
Any program that uses its own PDF rendering system to print instead of the OS's should not display this issue. I'm sure a patch will be along soon

I'm running 10.11.1 and having this printing blank (or only printing the color, but not the black text) issue.
In case this is helpful to any other readers... printing in Preview and Safari did not work for me. Dropping the file onto a printer did not work either (printed a blank page). So I opened the pdf in Preview, exported to a jpeg (unfortunately had to do individually for multi-page documents). Then opened my jpegs in Photoshop and was able to properly print the document.
The problem was exacerbated by 10.11.1. Again, by dropping a PDF or graphic on Google Chrome allows you to view and print. Apple needs to fix Preview, it use to work - now it doesn't.
