What Apple should implement is the ability to attach files to share from the social widget

    Guys,

I have the exact same problem that Darkapple93 did but when I try to follow D3Huang's intial instruction (com.apple.ncplugin.WorldClock.appex), it merely opens the Terminal but does not cause the World Clock to reappear on the Today list of items to add or the Today view itself. Frustrating, as you can imagine.

My question is whether you have any other idea on how to reenable the widget? I would highly appreciate any suggestions.

For the record, I have applied all other suggestions from Darkapple93 and D3Huang but nothing seems to work for me.

    Thanks,

    Dobry

The solution is here: If Share options or Markup is missing after upgrading to OS X Yosemite or El Capitan - Apple Support

Works for me after a lot of rebots. After this i can activate the social widget and the calculator in the notification center.

    Thank you so much!

I have actually noticed your earlier post and tried to follow the instructions yet clearly misread them. But now I did not and it everything is back at its place.

    SO GOOD

My case was similar , but i could see the clock + button but couldn't add any clock even though cities search  list did appear.

Initially Cupertino was the default clk.

I did the same thing and found the soln.

~/Library/Containers is hidden in recent OSX's.

    To access it temporarily :

    1. Open Finder.

    2. Click "Go" tab  in the menubar to expand it.

    3. Now hold down (Option)key keeping "Go" tab expanded.

    4. "Library" folder appears  , now double click it while holding down Option key.

In Library/Containers find " com.apple.ncplugin.WorldClock" folder  and simply delete it or delete everything inside Containers folder.

Now Go to the folder /System/Library/Frameworks/NotificationCenter.framework/PlugIns/

and see if there is "com.apple.ncplugin.WorldClock.appex" , double click it. Done!

This way any other widget can be restored too.

However I later discovered that  it  was a temporary solution . Any additional clk disappears after no time , only default Cupertino clk remains.

The real soln might be a clean installation of EI Capitan or may be it is a bug.

one more thing , if this method works for anyone permanently , be cautious !! do not delete everything inside "Containers" folder, it  is a mistake .

Just delete"com.apple.ncplugin.WorldClock" folder and that's all.

I made some progress while researching to get back Finder context menu items of DropBox and InSync.  Based on a DropBox support suggestion....

    1. Shutdown and start in recovery mode. (cmd+R)
    2. Open a terminal and disable System Integrity Protection (csrutil disable)
    3. Reboot in normal mode.   I fixed DropBox permissions (DropBox->Preferences->Account.  Press and hold Option key)
    4. After relaunching Finder, I could see the context menu items of DropBox and Insync.  My notification panel items such as World Clock, Stocks, Today, Social etc. reappeared.  I think this is nothing to do with DropBox permissions.   Its because SIP is disabled.  I placed needed widgets on my Notification panel and configured them.
    5. Rebooted again in recovery mode and enabled SIP as I don't like to leave SIP disabled.
    6. Rebooted in normal mode.
    7. My DropBox menu items and notification panel items remained.  Finally I've all items on my Notification Panel.

BTW, I'm on El Capitan 10.11.1 (beta)

Thanks for the tip.  For a less draconian take, just delete...

    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.ncplugin.WorldClock

If that doesn't work, try the scorched Earth method...

Just wanted to say dhuang's answer helped me on a clean install of Capitan. I couldn't add a new clock, and it did not even allow me to type any characters, and it would just beep back at me. I went to

    ~/library/containers

    and (renamed first then) deleted

    com.apple.ncplugin.WorldClock

then brought back the notifications side bar and the worldclock resetted.

    Thank you!

Turns out deleting them only refreshes them and the clock started working again on the spot without the need to restart.

    Cheers,
