Q: Since downloading El Capitan, mission control no longer works on my Macbook Pro.  When the icon is pressed it offers me the choice of Desktop display 1 or 2.  Any help out there?

Mission Control no longer works since downloading El Capitan.  When icon pressed it offers me Desktop 1 or 2.  I have a Macbook Pro 2011.  Anyone having similar problem or any suggestions for fixing it.

    Hello annion,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

I see from your post that you're trying to use Mission Control on your Mac after upgrading to OS X El Capitan.  You mentioned that when you hit the Mission Control key on your keyboard that you see Desktop 1 or Desktop 2.  These are the desktops that are currently open on your Mac.  If you have any app windows open in a desktop that you are viewing, you will see them in the large area below.  Take a look at the information in the link below to learn more about using Mission Control in El Capitan:

If this doesn't clear up Mission Control for you, then please take a screenshot of what you are seeing and then post that in a reply so we can better assist you.
