Oct 1, 2015 11:01 PM in response to magdalenafrombakersfieldby Cunnla,Have you tried turning up your display brightness as mentioned in the HT document above.
Otherwise, try booting up in Safe mode by holding down the Shift key at startup. Does the same thing happen?
Also, try Recovery mode. Hold down Command and R keys at startup, choose Disk Utility and repair your startup disk.

Oct 2, 2015 12:22 AM in response to Cunnlaby magdalenafrombakersfield,Thanks Cunnla, I had tried the display brightness first and that didn't help at all. I just tried the other 2 suggestions you made and neither worked. It just stays gray.

Oct 2, 2015 3:49 AM in response to magdalenafrombakersfieldby Cunnla,Did it stay gray in Safe mode or only after you restarted in normal mode? What did Disk Utility say about your startup disk -- that it appeared to be OK? Also, you say you ran a diagnostics test, what was the result?

Oct 2, 2015 7:23 AM in response to Cunnlaby magdalenafrombakersfield,Cunnla, I don't know what is safe mode. I actually meant I was not able to do a diagnostic testing. The Apple Store is going to open in a few hours so I will take it in and see what they tell me. Thanks for all your help.
