Finder doesn't remember the last position of folders

So in OS X El Capitan, one thing that I find incredibly annoying is that finder doesn't remember it's place. If you scrolled down through files/folders, and opened a sub folder, then click the back arrow, you start at the top again.

Absolutely agree. This was one of the features I liked and pointed out most, while bragging of course, when comparing my Windows machine at work to my Mac. IMO this little feature could show much better usability and operator interfacing of Mac OS's vs their Windows counterparts.

This will most likely annoy me multiple times a day when getting on our work server, unless I want to just keep the tab open. Of course having to do that seems like an archaic fix to a great feature now inexistent, deleted out for some reason or another that to those who loved it was pure stupidity.

This is an annoying characteristic and definitely disrupts workflow.

Additionally, my finder also forgets the last file path sub-folder name and unless I'm memorizing file paths as I go, I must recreate the route I took.

I want, not only the file path at the bottom of the finder window but each sub-folder highlighted in each subsequent view column. If I was un-rolling a string while exploring a cave - finder would cut the string whenever I looked at something. Maybe I should use bread crumbs, instead.

Indeed. Just noticed this, too, after updating just now. About freakin' time! 🙂

I have to admit, it was rather annoying to have to go back to the beginning, particularly when a folder would have a lot of subfolders, like my Music folder, for example. I have 403 folders in it, each corresponding to a different artist, and if I wanted to look in say, my Pink Floyd folder, when I would back out of that folder, rather than still be in the P's, I'd be all the way back at the top. Good on Apple for fixing this.
