iMovie - Original downloads

Hello Folks,

I have just completed a video presentation using iMovie. Now that all the various components have been placed on the timeline, do I need to retain all of the original download files, which are at present in my downloads folder on my macbook pro. If I delete these files will it affect the timeline in any way or am I OK to delete them.

Any help would be most appreciated.
