iphone usb tethering not working after upgrade

Well that is highly irregular.

I make mine finally worked... I reinstalled the last iTunes from the apple website and using pacifist I substitute the "AppleUSBEthernetHost.kext" for the last one.

I think that you have to disable the Disable SIP (System Integrity Protection) to do so.

Now works fine.

I have the same problem and I'm still on Yosemite with same hardware and iPhone 5. USB tether in System Network Utilities says the iPhone is not connected but iTunes "sees" the phone and WiFi tethering works fine

It doesn't work that way anymore. With iOS 8 and later and Yosemite and later, all connections are semi-automatic Via continuity.

Your iPhone should show up in the WiFi menu where you can connect to it.

There is no "pairing" of your iPhone to Yosemite or El Capitan. Continuity/Handoff handles all "pairing" automagically.

I used to be able to usb tether to the Verizon 6620L jetpack but I can no longer after the El Capitan "upgrade"...... to me this feels more like a downgrade..... 😠

If it doesn't work as described, then make sure this is all set up: OS X El Capitan: Connect to the Internet using Instant Hotspot

There is no "pairing" anymore.

I Can confirm the usb tethering issue goes along with photos and image capture not being able to show any photo or video in my iPhone too. I haven't figured out how to solve this yet. Let's hope some of you does. Any update?

I don't understand why you talk about WiFi Tethering. The problem is about USB tethering.

The Setup for OSX El Captain only describe WiFi and Bluetooth tethering.

The problem is about USB tethering.
