store.apple.com requiring SSN to buy iPhone

I just want to buy an iPhone 6S plus. no contract. no discount. no phone line. i just need the phone.

why is store.apple.com demanding my SSN, phone number, and zip code in order to buy a phone?!?! I DON'T HAVE ANY OF THAT. I JUST WANT TO BUY THE PHONE. CASH. Is this impossible to do?

I seem to have figured this out. It's the A1634 model that is the at&t model apple is only allowing at&t customers to buy. so afaik, for the first time ever, it is recommended that non-contract people buy the t-mobile version instead of the at&t version. they're going through a lot of trouble to make sure not just anyone can buy it. Here's some reference http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/
