Q: Facetime icon in dock shows recent calls when there are none

After upgrading to El Capitan, I notice that the FaceTime icon in the dock shows a recent call icon, when there has been no FaceTime calls for over 2 months.

Is there a way to correct this?

I have turned off notifications and returned it on, and the same thing happens, and have rebooted and same problem occurs.

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11)

This morning I called Apple to discuss this problem.  Since I have my Macs (iMac and MacBook Pro) connected through iCloud with iPhone and iPad and I had setup FaceTime to accept calls from the iPhone.  Apple tech was thinking that when I received a call on the phone, it was being sent to FaceTime as a missed call.  We discussed going into FaceTime on each device and deleting the call history.  I then changed the preferences to uncheck box allowing me to be reached at my cell number.  After doing this, the missed call icon does not appear on the dock any more.
