Configurator 2 - app install question

I just downloaded and installed Configurator 2. The question I have is in regarding installing apps. It doesn't look like you can set an Apple ID for a device, and when you install an app through a blueprint, it will show up on the device, but it won't be able to run without the same Apple ID. In Configurator 1.x, this didn't seem to be a problem. When I launch the app, it now prompts for an Apple ID/password - and it needs to be the same one that you downloaded the app to your Mac. Any thoughts as to what I'm doing wrong here?
