since i installed El captain face time no longer functions on my mis 2007 iMac calls show
but when you answer it goes off. when calling it tells you that the other user cannot take your call .
Thinking of trying clean install.

I Have similar problem on my mid 2007 iMac 24". When I answer call, or the other person answer FaceTime crashes. I noticed that problem is only with video FaceTime. Audio only calls work fine.
So I created a El Capitan pen drive and did clean install to find that problem remains. Please fix it apple.
Hi I have been on to apple support they are currently investigating my Mac Remotely, this can take up to 4 days.
They have not been made aware of the problem and It was the first they had heard of it. So I would phone them if I was you.
I didn't realise as we have upgraded to new operating system we get 28 days free tech support even though our pc's are mid 2007.
I can only think that it is a problem with the camera and the new operating system.
i encounter similar problem, any update from apple in fixing our issues. Face Time just closed either when other side pick up my video call or when I pick up coming video call. My is on Mac Pro mid 2010.
Thanks, I did not know that we got free support either after upgrading to El Capitan and my face time is not work. Does the same that yours does. Have you heard anymore from them about this problem.
