I have an iPAD mini running iOS 8, and Mac Retina running Yosemite. If I upgrade to El Capitan will my iPAD with iOS8 fully synch, Calendar, Contacts, Notes?

    Yes, I believe so.

One thing to be careful of, though: When you first open Notes in El Capitan and it asks to upgrade your iCloud account, do not click "Upgrade Now". If you do, Notes will no longer sync with iOS 8. Only choose to upgrade Notes if and when you put iOS 9 on your iPad. Without upgrading your account, you won't get to use some of the new features of Notes but it will work just as well as before. See Upgrade your notes with iOS 9 and OS X El Capitan - Apple Support.

    Hi there,

As stated by previous commenters - El Capitan will still work with devices using iOS 8. However iTunes will not work if you plug your iPad into the computer. This is due to the latest iTunes version not accepting anything below iOS 9.0.1.

As long as you do not press upgrade notes app, your notes will sync between your devices. However it is recommended to upgrade all hardware to the latest version of iOS and OS X.

    Michael.
