I sent my iPod in to Apple through Best Buy's Geek Squad, since it was required by my 3yr warranty with them. Is there anyway I can get a repair number to enter to check the status?
That's all a complete scam. Best Buy doesn't send them to Apple, they send them to their own warehouse, do crap all with them, and then tell you that Apple replaced the hard drive or some nonsense like that.

Nope, they actually do send them to Apple since I'm under Apple's 1yr standard warranty, but after the one year is up, they start shipping to their own place.
If that's true, then call Applecare (1 800 275 2273) with your iPod serial number and ask them for confirmation of the repair. I'll bet you they don't find anything.
Just got a call from Best Buy. They said that Apple approved me to go pick up a new one instead of repairing it. Well, I got a new iPod, so I don't really care where it went.
