Q: No more SMS on iPad Air2 after upgrade to iOS 9

I first updatwd my iPhone to iOS 9 and had problems connecting to iMessage. I finally got it working after numerous resets, reboots, etc.

MEssages are coming in late, even from other iMessage users on my iPhone.

Now I realized I'm not getting SMS texts on my iPad Air 2. So, I upgraded my iPad to iOS 9. Still can't send SMS.... SMS works on my iphone 5, so it's not a carrier issue. And SMS worked on all my devices before I upgraded any device to iOS 9...

WHat is the fix for this?

A:

Make sure that your iPhone is logged into the same Send & Receive addresses as your iPad.

Settings->Messages->Send & Receive->

Check to see the email you use on your iPad for messaging is listed on your iPhone. They need to match for the text message forwarding option to appear.

You will need to perform these steps on your iPhone (not your iPad):
Go to Settings
Tap on Messages
Tap on Text Message Forwarding (The feature that enables you to receive SMS messages on devices other than your iPhone)
Make sure your iPad is listed, and that the switch is green.
If the switch is not green, toggle it ON and then enter the code on your iPhone that appears on your iPad screen.
If your iPad does not appear in the list, make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID in iCloud on your iPhone and iPad (Settings > iCloud)

TThanks but I do not have a Text Message Forwarding option. I have an iPhone 5 but running iOS 9

ALso, before someone else suggests, I don't have an SMS option on my iPad. I was on a chat with Apple Support and they couldn't figure it out either.

TThank you, it did not solve the problem.

BtW -this all worked with all my devices before I upgraded To iOS 9.

I Just upgraded again and now see Text Message Forward option. It's all fixed now. Not sure why it wasn't there before.
