Photos on El Capitan doesn't display imported aperture library

I've seen the other threads, but none seemed to describe my issue.

I was running Mountain Lion. I upgraded to El Capitan. I'm backed up via Carbonite which was up to date when I upgraded.

I was using aperture 3.2.4. The app store doesn't allow updating either iPhoto or Aperture.

I go through the process of importing the aperture library, and all seems to be going fine. The Aperture Library.photolibrary is renamed Aperture Library.migratedphotolibrary but no matter what, Photos displays nothing.

Any thoughts/help?

Thanks.
