My Lexar Card Reader is not working after upgrade

Well, I've just upgraded my 2012 Retina MacBook Pro to El Capitan and suddenly my Lexar Memory Card Reader 3.0 stopped working. It's not recognised in any of the USB's ports, I changed cables, changed ports, restarted the computer and nothing happened. I tried to insert CF's or SD's only and nothing happened, any light blinking nor it was vibrating.


I've also opened Disk Utility.app (that changed and now seems creepy) and also it's not recognised by the computer, as well as the "system report".


My last goal was testing it in my mom's Macbook Air still running Yosemite, and it worked fine!!!


I'm happy to know that's not my card reader but very unhappy with this upgrade. Any solutions???


I can't really counts with my mom's computer to work!!!!

Hi Bombachini,


I'm experiencing the same issue on my iMac 27" Late 2013, so it's not only connected to MacBooks, unfortunately... I can read SD cards from the SD port on my iMac, but the Lexar reader simply does not work anymore. I will raise the issue with Lexar itself and hopefully they will come up with a solution very quickly!

Same problem here, with MacBook Pro Retina (end 2013), running El Capitan. No problem whatsoever with the same computer running Yosemite, or an old iMac running Osx 10.6.8.

Contacted Lexar, they said that it's probably a compatibility issue with the new OSX and they don't have a driver update at the moment. So the solution, coming from them, is to "check if Apple releases an update that will solve the problem".
