Q: I need help putting Windows Vista on my external HDD. (Windows is on a disc) So I could boot to it.

Hello, I am trying to put Windows Vista on my mac with boot camp (Windows is on a disc) its very confusing, I couldn't find any tutorials on Youtube...

Computer Fan, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

Run BC Assistant. You should see only two options, if you Mac is older than 2012 AND it has a built-in Optical drive. You can download the software to a USB2 flash drive and insert your DVD and and select Install Windows.

If you have a physical DVD,

1. you need an external Optical drive, if your Mac does not have a built-in Optical drive,
2. a 8-16Gb USB2 flash drive.

Please start at Install Windows 7 and earlier on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support .
