I have a iPod touch 5th gen, I've owned it for about 2 months now and recently, it's just started to cut the top and bottom off of my videos. But it only happens with videos that people send me (like over iMessage) Is there a way to fix this?

But it only happens with videos that people send me (like over iMessage) Is there a way to fix this?

I would guess that the users took those videos in a different orientation. Contact those senders and ask what device they have and what orientation was used to sent the videos.

I've noticed that the videos they recorded were in front facing camera mode

but I had a 4th gen iPod touch (before I got the one I have now) and it played the videos fine.

I've even gone to my camera roll and tried playing videos that I've had saved for over a year, it my 5th gen iPod has

cropped those off too! 😟

I know of nothing yo can do on the iPod. On a computer there may be ways to avoid that problem. The "problem" may be the way that Apple tried to resolve the problem videos play 90 degrees when they are taken with a different orientation
