How can I tether my iPhone 4s to my MacBook Pro to shoot pictures?

I record a lot of video and take pictures of myself, and in the past have used Photo Booth on my Mac or the front camera on my iPhone, however the quality isn't great.

Now I'm thinking of using the back camera on my iPhone as it's much higher quality, but obviously I can't see the viewfinder to frame the shot.

Aperture used to have a tethering option, however this is no longer available and I wouldn't spend the money just for one feature anyway. Photos does not appear to have a tethering option.

Is there anything appropriate for my usage?

iPhone 4S, iOS 7.1.2, null
