May 20, 2016 1:41 PM in response to Jonathan Spallby charliebn,Have you installed 14.6.4 Jonathan? That seems to be what has fixed it [so far! - 3 days] for me.

May 24, 2016 2:22 AM in response to charliebnby charliebn,A week after installing 14.6.4, my [infuriating] Outlook window-sizing problems remain 'cured'.
So my fingers remain crossed.

May 24, 2016 11:45 PM in response to charliebnby willow878,For those who are running Outlook 2011, the update to 14.6.4 is located here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=52206
This also fixed the window resizing issue for me as well.

May 25, 2016 3:05 AM in response to willow878by corvairkid,Thanks for the info willow878.
Unfortunately, after updating to 14.6.4 back on May 17th, the problem still persists on my computers.

May 25, 2016 4:52 AM in response to willow878by corvairkid,Just to be sure... I re-downloaded and re-installed the Outlook 2011 update 14.6.4.
Within less than an hour the window size problem returned to both Outlook and Apple Calendar.
I will continue to minimize Outlook and will keep the Calendar sidebar hidden to work-around these issues.
My opinion on this problem remains that Apple needs to fix this, not Microsoft. Apple's own Calendar application is affected.
The problem started with the introduction of OS X El Capitan.
Seems pretty obvious to me.

May 25, 2016 11:08 PM in response to willow878by willow878,I am extremely disappointed to say, after two days of Outlook behaving fine. It is now rebroken.
All hopes for a better future have been shattered.
If only apple bug support actually read this discussion.

Jun 4, 2016 3:58 AM in response to willow878by Got Me,Regarding the outlook resize problem, if you go to applications > Outlook > right click on icon > scroll down to get info > then select the (prevent app nap) box
this cured the problem for me.

Jun 4, 2016 4:29 AM in response to Got Meby corvairkid,I just followed your suggestion "Got Me". Hope it works. I'll report back here in a day or two.

Jun 4, 2016 4:54 AM in response to Got Meby corvairkid,Well, I didn't have to wait a day or two. Unfortunately, the problem persists.
Back to minimizing the Outlook window for me.
-
Jun 4, 2016 5:13 AM in response to corvairkidby Got Me,that's unfortunate. this works for me, never needed to resize outlook after setting prevent nap.

Jun 4, 2016 9:51 AM in response to Got Meby charliebn,This is all very odd.
Getting on for 3 weeks after downloading 14.6.4, my window-sizing problems remain cured.
Other people - like corvairkid - are still in the sh*t.
I wonder what the problem really is?
Whatever, it was a nightmare while it lasted which. for me, was ever since installing el Capitan until the 14.6.4 update.

Jun 7, 2016 1:38 PM in response to charliebnby corvairkid,I'd like to know what the problem is caused by too.
But, I don't look at it as a "nightmare".
I am so used to minimizing, instead of closing, the Outlook window, it has become second nature to me.
Also, for the Calendar size problem, keeping the calendar sidebar closed is a simple fix.
You only have to close it once and forget about it.
At this point, if it never gets fixed, fine with me.
There are a lot more important things to be concerned with.

Jun 8, 2016 10:49 AM in response to corvairkidby charliebn,You're right, corvairkid.
But I'd still like it fixed - that would suit my "Quit All" gizmo [which I use a lot] much better.
Oh - and thanks again for finding the obvious & simple work-around.
