testing if metal is present?

Hi all,

is there a test application which can test if the new grafics engine metal is present in my mac?

The official criteria i know says as a conclusion "every mac from 2012 or newer can do metal under el capitan".

My machine is a mac pro from 2010, which, by official criteria, cannot do metal.

But some closer information say, that the presence of opengl 4.3 is the real criteria.

My mac has a geforce 980 ti, which has open gl 4.5. So some hope has risen.

And so i am searching for a test application which can say "yes metal is present and working" or "nope, bad luck for you".

Or are the any easy systemcalls so that i can make a test application myself? I am experienced with visual studio, c#, .net, but not with xcode. I am sure that i could make some simple apps.

Every hint or suggestion is welcome.

greetings from germany

Chris
