I Recently bought an apple 3rd gen tv. I have a Sony Bravia. Been trying to connect and tried two different hdmi cables but still get " unsupported signal. Check your device output" . What is the problem and what can I do?

worked great with my bravia if yours is old or cheap it may not support full hd and you need to lower the resolution for it to work
HI, so I tried it with another TV - also a Sony Bravia and it worked. so do you think this would be a problem with the hdmi port on the tV? Is there some way to rectify this? Or would I have to change the motherboard (or the like) entirely?
It does sound like the TV to me. Don't know much about them I'm afraid?
did you try to connect it to the other tv lower the resolution inside settings and connect it back with the org tv?
