After suffering with sluggishness, refusal to upload, absolute frustration with Safari it is finally back. I had done
everything posted, empty cache, turn off extensions, plug-ins, etc. but unchecking Allow WebGl was the
answer. Anyone know why it is suddenly causing such problems?

It's working now!
I just had to erase all the "cookies" and restar my MacBook.
I hope it stays this way.

Spoke too soon. I will start a new thread since my Safari is still sluggish and often refuses to go to web sites, play videos, etc.

Have you tried the cookies thing?
I also noticed that the new update automatically installed "advertising extensions" and that was making my macbook air very slow.
On the top menu go to SAFARI > PREFERENCES > EXTENSIONS
I uninstalled both of them and restarted my computer.
