Apple TV using way more than data than expected

I have a 3rd gen Apple TV

I primarily use it to stream Hulu content (as I understand 650 mb per hour).

I also stream from a foreign TV streaming website on my iPad, airplaying to my Apple TV.

This website says their content ranges from 500mb to 1gb per hour.

I use Comcast which has a 300gb cap, so I've been monitoring the data usage and

see that on average, it logs at least 2-3gbs per streaming hour.

ASsuming I have minimal other online activities, what could be the possible

culprit for this situation? I have a 9-6 job and somehow managed to use nearly

400 gbs of data last month!
