Can I partition the hard drive on my early 2013 Macbook Pro to run Windows XP?

Right. That's what I was informed before I installed Windows. However, Windows 7 was not available and I had to purchase and install Windows 8, which is a dog and the one program I want to run is not supported. It does however function under Windows XP.
Just thought I'd ask.

use a virtual machine like virtual box from oracle it will let you run windows xp on any system
