The last backup could not be completed

I managed to switch over to my new iPhone 6s and did one backup, after I kept having the message "The last backup could not be completed" Why?

I searched online and tried out some steps suggested. Like reboot my phone, sign out and sign in again to my App store. But the problem persisted.

Help!

Same issue on my 6S and my wife's 5S. Tried everything mentioned in this thread and no luck. So then I decided to close all open apps by double clicking on home page and swiping up for each app. Then power cycled phone. And then both phones were able to back to iCloud 🙂


There must have been a conflict with an app operating in the background.
