i can't drag and drop to my seagate external drive

I am having trouble being able to add any files at all to my new Seagate backup plus slim +. Its driving me crazy can anyone give me in the most detailed and in lame mans terms how this is supposed to work please? I give you permission to talk to me like i am 5 years old 😝

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11)

That is correct, OS X cannot write to NTFS, it can read files from the drive. If the drive is only going be used with your Mac then it needs to be re-formatted to:


Mac OS Extended (Journaled) (GUID) partition. My guess is you don't know how. To format it and learn about Disk Utility please click
