I see a few people on eBay selling Apple Watches that were previously demo's.... they are being sold for parts/as is because the seller doesn't know how to get them out of the demo loop.
Is this something worth investing my time/money into or is it a case of the demo watch is slightly different then the "real deal" so to speak

1) Because the sellers aren't even supposed to give out/sell demo units AFAIK.
2) Because it would always have the demo software on it, meaning many functions are restricted (you wouldn't even be able to pair it with your iPhone) making it virtually useless.

Your question is just like asking if you should purchase a used/demo automobile. How should we know? It's your decision. Decide if the vendor is reputable, etc.
I would strongly recommend avoiding "demo" Apple products.

Thanks for your response - the issue is not wether the vendor is reputable - it's wether theres a way the demo mode can be cleared and it will operate like a normal Apple Watch.
