Get a diagnostic error each time I run disk utility. Is there a problem with Safari, or does this show up every time regardless?
iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), Memory 4GB
Open System Preferences > Network then click Assist Me > Diagnostics
If there's a problem with your internet connection, you should see one or more red buttons on the left. If you do, click Continue.
Thanks Carolyn, but the problem is not the internet connection. To clarify, the diagnostic error I am referring to comes when I run disk utility and the error is,
"Permissions differ on “Applications/Safari.app/Contents/Resources/Safari.help/Contents/Resources/inde x.html”; should be lrwxr-xr-x ; they are -rwxr-xr-x .

Unless you are having computer problems, repairing permissions is for the most part a waste of time. Some errors will always show up.
