After installing El Capitan my Macbook Air loading ball appears for about 10plus minutes so I restarted it. now it will not boot up and a prohibited sign pops up each time I attempt to restart the computer.
Boot into the recovery partition and select Disk Utility from the 4 option menu.
Run Disk Utility>First Aid, Verify and Repair.

Try it again. If no success, backup your data if you can (if you already have not done so) and erase the disk. If the install fails, a new HDD will be in order.
