iTunes does not detect iPhone 6 Plus with iOS 9.0.2

Phone 6 Plus, 128 GB, iOS 9.0.2

I received a warning on my iPhone that it hasn't been backed up to iCloud since 9/18/15 which is around the time that i upgraded to iOS 9, so i tried backing it up several times unsuccessfully. I then connected my phone to my Windows 10 PC and it is recognized by the computer (phone is shown on file explorer), but iTunes does not even detect the phone. I ran a iTunes diagnostic and the results were fine. I also tried plugging my phone to different USB ports & with different cables without success. I'm considering completely resetting my phone to factory settings and then restoring from my 9/18/15 backup. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

After I tried the solution posted at iPhone not recognized in iTunes 12.3 and did not work, I checked the Windows support pages.

I ended up uninstalling & reinstalling iTunes 12.3 by following the steps in the link below & it solved my problem.
