    Hi there TUUGII,

It sounds like you're looking for a Mac OS X compatible driver for your wireless adapter. I was looking at the product page for its drivers, and the only options available are for Windows and Linux:

    Download for TL-WN822N V3 - Welcome to TP-LINK

If you're looking for a Mac OS X 10.11 version specifically you may need to reach out to the manufacturer for additional assistance.

    Support - Welcome to TP-LINK

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

The driver is compatible, it just blocks you from installing it. Open the .pkg file using "Pacifist" application and install the second .kext file to its expected location and extract one of the wireless utility apps. Then restart and all should be working. You may need to add the adapter in System Preferences, but I didn't.

Just upgraded to a new Macbook pro with El Capitan, and lost the use of the TP-LINK WN822N, which was killing me.

Tried your approach, and it still wouldn't work, however, it did show me what the problem was.

I had to enter recovery mode, open the terminal, and type "csrutil disable" to disable a layer of protection Apple has added that even root can't get around.

I rebooted, but installer.pkg still wouldn't install, but I was able to right click on the installer.pkg in Pacifist, and tell it to install to the normal path.

I rebooted again in recovery mode, opened the terminal, and typed "csrutil enable", rebooted again, and now the hardware is working again!

Thanks for the nudge in the right direction.

I think you may be mistaken about system protection, but glad it worked. You don't need installer.pkg, but only to extract the config application to applications and the second kext package to its default installation location. The second, as the first package is unsigned. Anyway, if you have it working I don't care to solve this issue.

It doesn't work for me in sleep, but I have made an apple script to operate the config utility.

    tell application "System Events"

tell process "TP-LINK Wireless Configuration Utility"

click button "Turn Radio OFF" of tab group 1 of window 1

      end tell

    end tell

I will at some time compile it and add to sleep events (when I figure out where that is).

I got the message about how to remove system protection when I tried to install via Pacifist.  Gave all the steps in a alert style dialog.

I had tried just extracting the files as you suggested, but I got a msg box saying that files were being extracted, with a stop button, and it never cleared.

I stopped it, went to the directories where I expected to find the now extracted files, but they weren't there.

I don't know enough about all of this to understand why your steps wouldn't work for me, but using Pacifist was the nudge in the right direction I needed.

    Thanks again.

I got that message also, but only when extracting the application. Only the kext needs to be installed to the default location. You can install the application to /Applications (or wherever you want), but for some reason it is protecting something inside of /Library.

I sort of passed over that by saying "extract" instead of "install" for the application. Probably not clear that that was intentional.

You didn't need to disable csrutil. Just install the second .kext package, then extract the wireless application to your applications directory and run it there.

Install the .kext via Pacifist right click, or search for instructions on installing .kext. For example, repair permissions in Disk Utility might help. You might also try installing the other .kext, but I'm quite sure that it is the second.

By the way, I'm unsubscribing from this thread. If it takes users 3-4 hours of trial and error, thats fine. Directions are there for proof of concept.
