Some of my pictures wont import onto my macbook pro

My iphone 6 plus is updated already updated but it's been happening for a long time already.

On my phone's pictures, it says I have 900 pictures but when I try to import them onto my laptop, it says I have only 600???

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)
