My Targus USB mouse wont connect

I have a Targus USb mouse that I'm trying to use with my 2013 MacBook Air running OS X Yosemite. It doesnt seem to recognise the mouse. My mouse is the Targus model PAUM01U. Any Suggestions?

MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)
